This is a saying(writing) of the great English writer William Shakespeare.
Now read the following lines:
"Life is a Gift from God;
Man is the Crown of Creation."
These ideas are expressed by many religious texts.
Now, look at my conclusion which is purely logical:
If Life is a Gift from God
AND
If Life signifies nothing
THEN
The Gift of God signifies nothing.
Do you agree to this conclusion?
If you do not agree you are not a complete man(woman).
I will tell you the reasons for it.
- You believe more in ideal concepts manufactured in the idle mind. Divine belief that life is a Gift is purely an ideal. So you are not practical or empirical.
- You have least respect for human experiences and sentiments. Shakespeare spoke of the fact universally experienced by human persons. So you mistrust your own kind.
- You are yet to be exposed to the real challenges of life. So you are an infant as long as the Life is concerned.
Final Note:
Thoughts on life will more and more lead you to nothingness.
Don't think about life.
Just walk along with it.
Its precise.Isn't it? yet hitting on the center of the nail... i was awestruck.. first i thought you dint explain,for folks would not take this or thats what i thought in the least. but there is no need to explain... Truths are always simple and needs no explanation... as siple as that... Life= Nothingness... Looking forward to more life truths from you wise man...
ReplyDeleteI think what constitutes one's life is what one thinks about it..For instance some believe that life is to achieve a goal.It can be anything like buying a car u like or getting to a respectful post..Completeness is again what one thinks it is..some think that their life is complete by marriage, some think its complete in a bottle of drink everyday. some think it is their profession etc. And of course for some life is or means nothingness. I think it is just another perception amidst thousand others.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Wildwoods that life is complete with getting what one wanted. But is life complete even after getting what one wanted? There lies my question. But about nothingness, it is almost the final.
ReplyDeleteEven as I agree with the concluding remarks "Dont think about life....Just walk along", I find the comment "if you do not agree with the above, You believe more in ideal concepts manufactured in the idle mind" rather amusing and comic. It would have been fitting if it was the exact opposite.
ReplyDeleteJust because someone is not able to explain life does not render it meaningless or make it nothing.
And the logic used in the post reminds me of the following;
whiskey+water=intoxication
brandy+water=intoxication
rum+water=intoxication
SO
water is an intoxicating element.
If you find the above equations foolish, so is this discussion about equating life and subsequently gift of god to nothingness
Jerry, I hope you know logic, specially syllogism. If you had known it you would laugh at your own inference sited in your comment. Look at the major and minor premise and look at the conclusion. Conclusion cannot have what is present in both premises.(Strictly for logigians).
ReplyDeleteModestly....yes. I do know my logic and more so of syllogism. I was actually pointing out that you were inclined towards the 'inductive reasoning' which is more a 'Syadvada' than syllogism which is pure 'deductive reasoning".

The one who feels a leg says the elephant is like a pillar; the one who feels the tail says the elephant is like a rope; the one who feels the trunk says the elephant is like a tree branch; the one who feels the ear says the elephant is like a hand fan; the one who feels the belly says the elephant is like a wall; and the one who feels the tusk says the elephant is like a solid pipe.
Hence, per YOUR syllogism,
IF ELEPHANT IS LIKE A PILLAR
AND
IF ELEPHANT IS LIKE A HANDFAN
THEN
PILLAR IS LIKE A HANDFAN
Makes sense?
I surrender to your logic. But at times life's challenges are too heavy. Life itself looks meaningless. It was on one such moment the entire column came up. Otherwise I am very much positive. But blog is place where I can be myself at times. And that is a great relief.
